Task: Prepare Market Requirements Document (MRD)
Purpose of this task is to capture the requirements from market or customer’s perspective in a Market Requirements Document.

Product marketing manager shall be responsible for preparation of MRD. This document shall cover mainly:

  • Requirements from the market opportunity perspective based on inputs from market trends, customer feedback/expectations/interactions on existing products and competition products, internal ideas/innovation.
  • Non functional requirements such as performance requirements, Memory expectations, user experience etc. those are required to effectively address the market opportunity.
  • Timeline requirements for releases
  • Cost/budget expectations/limitations [to be competitive in the market]
  • Positioning requirements [IP only player, integrated player, local or global player/solution, value driven or price driven etc.]
  • Documentation requirements mainly intended to be shared along with licensing of the IP/solution.
  • Legal requirements [if any]
